As much as I would love to go to Seattle, I know there is a high possibility that the internship will be virtual, and I was wondering if anyone could provide some insight as to what it was like this past summer, and what I can still look forward to.
This info might be biased but this is my perception through the conversations I had with them. hey can I get the link too? Personally I think the virtual environment wasn't all that bad, everyone on my team was kind and very respectful of each others' time (esp with different time zones, wifi issues, etc.). Our interns ended up having an experience near identical to that of other ftes except without the performance reviews and one on one's. I went to a ton of social events and felt very connected with my team. . Interns.SWE.

In person Microsoft is able to show you a working life that's while mostly real can only really exist with the time and less responsibility interns have. But one thing that I heard was like not being able gather and truly connect or have a bigger network during the internship was a little be downer for them.
